Ding Dong Family

I heard from Mommy that HY 契姨 was back from HK yesterday... Unexpectedly, she came to our house today, with a whole bunch of...surprise.

Check out this Ding Dong Dong family!!! Now they're my best friends and I have to take them EVERYWHERE with me. Plus a glowing Ding Dong Dong, a Ding Dong Dong watch, a Ding Dong Dong phone, and many many others. Thank you so much 契姨!!!!!

Baby Shower for 妹妹

Dory 契Ma and many EE Suk Suk were so nice to throw a baby shower luncheon for 妹妹... See the Ding Dong cake, as if it was for me!!!

We've scheduled an induction to bring 妹妹 out on 12/30.  I'm all excited about it and keep saying words like "妹妹就嚟出嚟啦!!!" every now and then.  Somehow I get an impression that pink is 妹妹's favorite color, maybe because of her room and bedding.  Thus for every pink object, I'll simply present it to Mommy's tummy and say "比妹妹".  I even started calling myself "BB 哥哥" or "Ethan 哥哥".  We all hope I'll be a loving 哥哥 when she comes out.

A wonderful day

Today is a wonderful day with wonderful weather. Dad & Mom took me out to play 'bubbles'. It's one of my favorite activities I have with Dad & Mom. :D

Ethan, The Ring Bearer

I look really smart in tux, don't I?   I behaved surprisingly good today in Sherwin & Jeanie's wedding.  Walked the aisle accordingly without crying or whining, not even with a pacifier!  Daddy & Mommy are sooooo proud of me!!!

I was trying to be a little usher to help out too, but I was too small that I could only hold one program.  I was also a bit short to take the ladies in, except this little princess...  see how cute she is!

2nd birthday!!!

I've turned 2 today!!! I'm indeed a big boy now, big enough to be a big brother.  :) Since I've been sick for a few days, Daddy & Mommy hesitated to take me out or prepare any celebration for me.  Instead, some of the closest friends came over and had a yummy dinner with me.  Home is actually my favorite place to stay, especially with all the birthday toys surrounding me.  I was overjoyed.  A green tea cake is of course a must for any celebration in our house.  This year, I even got to taste a small slice!  Yum Yum!!!

It was such a wonderful birthday night - warm and cozy.  See how much fun I had with my new Thomas lego train set from the 契 family!

六叔婆's daughter

This is the newest addition to the Yiu's family, 六叔公 and 六叔婆's daughter, my 姨姨. She was delivered by Hong Yu 契姨 in their baby shower. She looks exactly like my 六叔婆. Quite cute but honestly very nasty with poop all over her body.

My house was mysteriously full of baby monkey everywhere and even my favorite Ding Dong Dong and Ding Ling were converted into Baby Paul Frank. Lucky enough, I managed to get my Ding Dong Dong back...

I gave them a GUCCI diaper bag filled with my freshly made warm soiled diaper as a gift. It made them VERY happy.

Pumpkin Patch

Today I went to the Dallas Aboretum with Kaelyn. See how cute she is!!! There were pumpkins everywhere and they were great for sitting. We also had a nice lunch at the garden cafe over there. Hopefully, this date will build up some good bonding between us. We'll be the ring bearer and flower girl in Aunt Jeanie's wedding in a month and it's very likely that we'll both cry.

This is my last ride with Daddy in this fun car. :'(

This car has brought me so much good memories. Every night around 6pm, Mommy would take me out for a walk to wait for Daddy. I was always overjoyed when I saw Daddy driving home with the top down and he would just take me in the driver seat for a short ride to the pond. He let me drive! It was truly the most looking-forward and exciting moment for me every day.

Daddy & Mommy didn't tell me it was sold until someone came and picked up the car today. I'm going to miss this car very very much.

Chatterbox

I've made a HUGE progress in my verbal skills this month. I can say so many words that always startled Daddy & Mommy when I first said it. Like many numbers, colors, objects, verbs... I'm so expressive now! Also, I'm smart enough to pick the easier word between Chinese/English. Like I say most colors in English but say "orange" color in Chinese... This makes me look more bilingual...and actually makes my life easier.

Of course, I can call my favorite Vin Vin 叔叔's name. This close-to-complete sentence is basically what I say everyday, "Vin Vin 抱抱 Bom Bom Ba". I also designed some nicknames for many like calling Ernest "Ernie", Terrance "Test", Raymond, "Almond", and Dory "Do-bee"... It's so much fun to talk. So I just talk all day.

Another favorite sentence that I say everyday is "跌跌, 疼疼, 慘慘, 喊喊!!!"

妹妹

This morning, Daddy and Mommy came home very happily with these black-and-white pictures. Mommy pointed to 1 of the pictures and said, "This is your 妹妹!".

I looked at the picture, with a lot of confusion, and didn't know how to respond. Although 妹妹 looked like a skull in the picture, I would still love her. Daddy should take some better pictures of 妹妹next time.

In order to prepare me to have a 妹妹 in several months, Daddy and Mommy read me a book named "I'm a big brother" all the time... Now, I think I'll be a good 哥哥!

驚驚

This week, I've entered some sort of anxiety period, that I could easily get frightened by anything and everything. When I was having lunch on my highchair one afternoon, I was so frightened to see a stranger mowing our lawn with a super heavy/loud machine. I tried to escape from my highchair and cried in extreme panic... from that moment on, I wouldn't sit on my highchair, or any highchair in any restaurants anymore. I just said "驚驚, 叔叔" all the time, whenever I saw a window... I also developed an extreme fear to all unfamiliar faces, especially towards waiter 叔叔...

This is giving Dad & Mom a very hard time because I always want to sit on their lap. They just couldn't eat while I was sitting on their lap. In a restaurant, they just have to distract me from looking at the waiters... Waiters are sooooooooo scary, especially the one at Awaji that repeatedly stared at me.

I hope I'll outgrow it soon...

Born Blue

If you don't believe babies are born with personal preference and personalities, I've got to tell you this. Ever since I could recognize color, I fell in love with BLUE. Mommy first taught me RED, then YELLOW, GREEN, and BLUE. Yet, I could name BLUE first. I have hundreds of colored balls in my play area, yet, I would only pick up BLUE balls. When I draw, I'd only hold blue crayons... I feel content when my hands are holding navy blue objects... well...yea...it has to be NAVY BLUE, not baby blue. And funny enough, I only like "B" out of the 1st five alphabets. So, I'm holding a BLUE B alphabet at home ALL DAY.

Same theory, I've been exposed to all sorts of musical instruments, yet, I'm only attracted to the DRUM set. It's unusual for a baby to spend 30+ minutes on doing one thing, but a drum can totally get my attention. Mommy has really slim hope to teach me piano, and seems like her dream of having a violinist kid has to pass to my little brother/sister. :p

Dinner Menu

After eating congee for more than 10 months, I don't think I can stand it anymore... These few days, I've run a campagne to fight against the boring and tasteless lunch/dinner menu. I fight for adult food, fight for what daddy has been eating... After consecutive days of rebellion, I finally changed Mommy's mind. Now, I'm having dinner together with Daddy & Mommy, sharing the SAME marinated food. Pork Chop, Teriyaki Chicken, Baby Bok Choy... Oh... Yummy... q\^_^/p

Jamba Juice Celebration

To celebrate I superiorly surpassed some developmental charts, Daddy and Mommy took me to Jamba Juice today... I ordered a fresh squzeed orange juice, and I was thrilled to have my own cup of juice!!!!!!!

These few months, I've learned to name 1 to 10, A to E, and around 10 different colors. I'll work hard to get another cup of personal jamba juice!!!

Worship Team Member

I officially joined worship team rehearsal on Sat, after months of observation. I've observed Ernest/Tommy Suk Suk for so long that I think it's my turn now. I played piano and drum, attempting to take Mommy and Ernest Suk Suk's role. Unfortunately, when I was trying to walk in the Sanctuary on Sunday morning, Mommy rerouted me to the nursery. I could only imagine playing with the team. But I have faith that very very soon, I'll be part of the band. :)

SHARE

In the past few months, Mommy told me it's "曳曳" to take others' toys... so I just scold others "曳曳" whenever other kids took my toys. Lately, Mommy taught me a new concept named "Share". I find it even more useful than "曳曳". Whenever I want someone else's toys, I can tell them to "SHARE". At the same time, when someone tries to take my toys, I simply tell them to "SHARE".

Today I applied this concept the first time with Katy. She tried to take my BMW when I was riding on it, I told her to "SHARE"... When I was trying to take her ball, I also told her to "SHARE". Although I didn't get any response from Katy, everyone thought I was very polite.

Challenges I faced

After the publicity of the interview, I got challenged by several people the next day after the video was being published. Being a celebrity isn't easy. I'm glad that I keep my intergrity and all my answers.

The Modern Wedding

From The Modern We...

My 契爺 finally tied the knot with my 契Ma today... It was such a beautiful wedding and I'm still amazed by the half-circle setting designed by 契爺's Dad. It was soooo creative and artistic! Yet, it was a hot day in the 90s. I didn't put my tux on as planned, just a white shirt, a bow-tie and a short black pant Mom got me right before the wedding. I'd have looked smarter if I didn't wear a bib and a pacifier...

Mom put me and Katy on a wagon and we rided the aisle as ring bearer and flower girl. My mom was really glad that I didn't cry...with the help of a pacifier. I just whined. And Katy was very nervous with her hands up all the time. Aren't we a cute couple? My Dad & Mom were too busy that day to take any pictures of us! Too bad!

The Modern Baby

I'm getting really nervous as I need to be The Modern Ring Bearer of The Modern Wedding tomorrow. I dressed up today and I looked pretty modern. All I need is some hair spray to make an Modern Egg Tart hair style.

However, when MaMa put the jacket on me, I couldn't help crying...

I'm not going to wear this tmr! I promise!!!

問你怕未?!

MaMa is always over protective... so I figure out a trick to scare her. She used to keep saying "小心D! 小心D! " when I play the slide at home. These few days, I just pretend I will jump off the slide whenever she is watching me or keep saying "小心D! ". Of course, I'm actually cautiously grabbing the rail with both hands. She was initially very scared, but now she found it v. funny and laughed at me. I need to figure out other tricks to scare her now...

唔好笑!

As I figure everybody smiles during photo shooting, I now start to smile whenever someone takes picture of me, without being told to. To my surprise, when Dada and MaMa took pictures of me this morning, they said, "唔好笑!" when I 笑... I'm confused now.

Zoooooooooooo

Partly cloudly, 70 degree... Isn't it a great day for zoo?! Yea!!! DaDa and MaMa has been planning to bring me to zoo before it gets too hot, and God gave us a perfect weather to visit Ft. Worth Zoo today.





I was really excited when I got there. It was the 1st time I visited a zoo. I met flamingoes, tigers, lions, rhinos, gorillas, elephants, giraffes, owl, eagle...and many many more animals!!! I imitated their voices and mama thought I sounded GREAT! One of my favorite stops was the bird house where we were surrounded by hunderds of beautiful birds! MaMa got a seed stick to feed the birdies...so much fun! However, most of the time, I found ceiling fans, trash, and fence more interesting than animals.

When we got home, MaMa showed me the animal book and I could recognize Gorilla and Monkey in no time... :D
