Hawaii cruise

I just came back from Hawaii with my parents and the big family!!!

About the cruise to Hawaii...um...it was FUN!!! Dad & Mom agreed that I behaved much much better than expectation. As I passed this test, I was allowed to go HK with my parents for Chinese New Year.

I was overjoyed the moment we walked into the room as there was a big mirror on the wall. The baby in the mirror laughed as I laughed. It was so much fun.

For some reason, I knew it was a 'vacation' and vacation = happiness. I was just EXCITED through out the whole trip. I especially loved the beach time. I wasn't afraid of waters at all. Although I put everything in my mouth, I knew sands weren't edible and I didn't even try to taste it. So, mom just let me play freely on the beach.

We went to a scenic turtle beach in Kona. In order to attract turtles, I dressed like a turtle. It worked. Daddy encountered 3 turtles in the waters. Mom didn't let me swim as the water was a little bit cold. So i just disguised as a turtle playing on the rocks. Dad & Mom saw so many exotic fishes in the sea. I couldn't see them 'coz I couldn't dive. But they took me to the Maui Ocean center to see them instead. They're soooo colorful. I've seen so much things that I could only see in books before.

We also joined a whale watching tour in Maui. However, I missed the whales as I fell asleep on the boat. If I didn't fall asleep, I would have spoken the whale language like Nemo to attarct more whales. Since I fell asleep, they only saw 3 whales. Too bad...

Other than beaches, we also toured the valconoes in Hilo and the waterfall + canyon in Kauai. But I fell asleep most of the time. So, I missed most of the views. Napping is very important to me. You know. It's more important than valcanoes, waterfalls, or canyon.

My Birthday Party

Today is thanksgiving. I suddenly remember my 'nickname' my parents named me before birth - "Turkey". I'm so thankful that I was not born a turkey, but also I get to taste turkey. I'm equally thankful that I'm no longer a baby who only practices crying and sleeping. These days, I could understand many things and communicate... Time flies. I'm already ONE!

I briefly remember I just had my birthday 2 days ago, but somehow today appeared to be my birthday again. But I like it. Many uncles, aunties, and friends celebrated with me today and it made my day probably the most exciting day ever in my life. Thank you so much for your love if you're reading my post!

I have a very yummy green tea birthday cake, but I didn't get even a bite of it. When the gang sang me the birthday song, I couldn't help applauding.

I've become more mobile as I got a new car and a private train as birthday gifts. I also got 3 formal wears, many causal wears, many lovely toys, and many books which I LOVE!!! I think I got spoiled already!!!

I'm ONE!

From 1st Birthday

Time flies. One year passed and I'm no longer a baby. Dad & Mom are so thankful that I still survive. Today is my 1 year old birthday and I spent a very happy evening with Dad, Mom, 契爺, 契媽 and 契姨. We went to Midori for my birthday dinner (Well...it didn't really matter as my dinner menu never change. I didn't even taste a bit of sushi on my birthday!!!). I was sooooo excited when I got there as 契媽 bought a few HUGE and flashy ballons for me!!! She really know me! My favorite 'thingy' at this point is 'BALL BALL'!!!! Hold on...It seemed there was something else as I heard some squashy sound. I thought they must have got me a squashy pig...but to my surprise!!!! They got me a BMW!!!! The squashy sound was from the honk!!!

Without a driver license yet, I could only push my Z4 with my hands.

Mom is throwing a BD party for me on thanksgiving. I can't wait. q\^_^/p

Wormy day

Today is NEITHER Halloween NOR Christmas, but somehow Mom felt like to dress me up. I was so mad about it 'coz I much rather to be spider man or super man. I don't want to be a worm. I think she should really go back to work.

Mom is home again...

From Ethan's 12th ...

Mom resigned this Tues. Not that she has decided to be a full-time mom, just that she has accepted a job offer and won't start her new job til mid Nov. I'm excited that I get to stay home with her again. Three weeks off, after three weeks of work?! She said she wanted to spend more time with me and her birthday off. I suggested a vacation, but Dad needed to go training these 2 weeks. TOO BAD~~~~

God has been so kind to me since I was as little as tadpole in mom's tummy. God first gave mom a very close & easy client when I was in her tummy, then a super long maternity leave, and now a very decent, close, and flexible new job that allowed her to work from hm when needed. When mom's life is easy, my life is easy too. Thank You God! I think I need to thank Mom as well since she gave up another job offer that gave her much more $$$ than the one she accepted, in order to take better care of me. Those money could buy many diapers, so I'm gonna consolidate my poo poo to save some diapers. I hope it'll make her feel better. Regarding her given-up bonus and pension, I guess I'll start mowing neighbors' lawn as soon as I walk better.

My first step

I proudly announce that, I've taken my first step this week. Mama attempted many many times to record it, but I couldn't resist to attack the camcorder whenever I saw it. I overheard that they're trying to get a mosquito camcorder soon.

Back-To-Work Party

From Aris and Katy...
I've thrown a back-to-work party today, to celebrate mama's returning to work next Monday. I was so excited to have Katie, Aris, and Ju Ju to join my party! Although we were in the same room, we didn't communicate to each other too much. Aris & I were busy biting stuffs while Katie fell asleep in her favorite swing. Sometimes, I hit Katie and she cried. Sometimes, I cried when I saw Katie & Aris cried. But it was fun.

Late afternoon, Daddy took us to his studio to take pictures, but we were hardly on the same page. The best picture captured was the one below while Mama danced crazily in front of 3 of us. We were all shocked!

I start "cruising" this week - walking while holding on to furnitures for balance. Mom hopes I won't walk too soon, but I can't stop my 小宇宙!

Itch

Something scary happened this afternoon... I suddenly had itchy rashes ALL OVER my upper body (luckily not my face). I didn't know what Dad did, but the rashes came out right after he changed my clothes. The rashes unmercifully grew on my neck, chest, and back within 5 seconds...there was at least one every 5mm... I couldn't stop myself to scratch my neck, to an extend that it almost bleed. It was the 1st time I've experienced such a thing.

Dad & Mom immediately dipped me into Aveeno Oatmeal bath and thank God that the rashes gradually went away, after around 10 minutes of soaking. Mom then put a turtle neck on me so I couldn't scratch myself anymore... and thankfully no more rashes coming out again. What a day! But good that Dad took the afternoon off to monitor me so we could play!

My first trip

The past weekend was the most adventurous time in my life...as I traveled to Galveston with Dad & Mom!!! For a 3 days journey, Mom packed my whole room to go - a travel play yard, my favorite bedding set, tons of toys, stroller, milk, food...well, you name it, she brought it. The back row and the trunk of our car were full of my belongings.

The beach house we stayed was a very decent place landing on sea water. The balcony, where all the EEs and Uncles fished, had a picturesque view. It was also where I observed the nature - fishes, seagulls, bugs, waters, boats... It was such a rewarding field trip that I actually encountered what I read from books only!!! The only disappointment was that Dad forgot to wake me up to go crabbing at 3AM, so he brought me to a dirty beach the next day. Yet, I had fun playing with sea water, first time ever. Mom said they'll bring me to Aruba next year if I behave!

契姨 gave me the biggest room to stay and I had a wonderful sleeping time. Thanks to all the uncles & EEs who tried very hard to keep the volume low. Mom was sooo surprised that I could actually nap and sleep over night in new environment like that. Mom was initially so anxious about this trip, but I behaved better than she expected other than constant screaming in the car! Also, with the amusing entertainment provided by so many EEs and Suks Suks, I had lots of fun while Dad & Mom could enjoy themselves. My favorite entertainer is...Norman Suk Suk!!!

Talking about food, while everyone had dim sum, egg tarts, HK milk tea, 蟹宴, 杧果+益力多...I also had 契姨's mom's Chicken Scallop congee and May EE's fish soup. They were 10+ times yummier than Gerber's sweet peas in my opinion.

9m check up

I had my 9m check up with Dr. Victorin today. To our disappointment, my weight still couldn't go beyond 20lbs. Weight/height percentile was announced to be 50%/50%... [SIGH] I bet mom is going to force me to eat more...but it typically won't work on me, unless Dad dances while I eat. He dances pretty well.

As I always allocate my food to my highchair, tee, bib, nose, cheek, and hairs, Mom estimates I'll never hit the 95% percentile again. The featured skin fold on my forearms are slowly disappearing. Isn't it sad?

The big tub

Dad & Mom took me to Alice EE's beautiful house in Southlake today. Strangely, there was a huge bath tub in the backyard, maybe 1000 times bigger than my tub. Dad said I could swim as I'd been swimming in Mom's tummy for 9 months. Mom & I disagreed and she put me in the sea turtle she bought from Target.

While Mom was busy feeding mosquitoes, Dad helped me to float. I was a bit nervous, but I was such a brave boy that I didn't cry!!! Doggie style wasn't too hard to manage afterall...

Imagining I could swim unassisted, Alice EE put 2 things around my arms, and then Mom insisted to put a Little Mermaid donut around my waist for safety. Well...I could then "float" by myself, but I was about to suffocate by winnie the pooh and little mermaid. Plus, I don't think a boy should wear a little mermaid donut...so I cried and quited swimming.

Food festival week

The past week has been a yummy week, because I've finally decided to eat more solid food WITH A SPOON, just because I'M A BIG BOY NOW! Since big boys don't eat jar food, I insisted NOT to eat any kind of baby food in a jar. Moreover, I'm trying to act more like an adult by drinking less and less milk everyday. It worries my Mom, so she's been diligently preparing fresh food for me. There's great selection of food everyday including oatmeal cereal, sweet potatoes, banana, sweet potatoes, banana, sweet potatoes, banana, sweet potatoes, oatmeal cereal, banana, banana, sweet potatoes, and banana...isn't it great?

P.S. No prune...ever...and ever.

My first passport

As we're planning to visit families & friends in HK during Nov, Dad & Mom rushed to get me a passport. Before heading to post office for the application, we need a passport photo... Well... we took around 20, and finally got 1 after photoshop retouch.

The officer said he has rarely seen any baby passport photo as nice as mine! I wanted to question him, "Why won't you accept photos with fingers in mouth?!?" But I couldn't talk.
